Clayton, Georgia

Still waters,
ancient pines.

A quiet retreat along the Tallulah River, where the only schedule is the slow turning of the seasons.

Our Story

A place to
unplug and breathe.

Stony Brook Cabin sits on the banks of the Tallulah River in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Georgia — a stretch of woodland where the air is cooler and the pace is measured in river currents, not clock ticks.

We opened our doors to travelers seeking something simpler: a room with a view of the water, the sound of wind through pines, and the kind of quiet that lets you hear yourself think again.

Whether you're passing through the North Georgia mountains or staying to explore the region's waterfalls and trails, Stony Brook Cabin is a grounding point — a place to arrive, settle in, and let the pace slow.

The Experience

What we offer

Comfortable Lodging

Clean, thoughtfully furnished rooms designed for rest. Every detail considers the traveler who has had a long day on the road and simply wants a good night's sleep.

Personal Attention

We're a small operation, which means you're not a room number. We know our guests by name and take care to make sure your stay is comfortable from check-in to departure.

Riverside Setting

The Tallulah River runs alongside our property. In the morning, sit on the porch and listen to the water. In the evening, watch the light change across the pines.

The Area

Clayton is a
destination.

Clayton sits in the heart of North Georgia's most scenic region — surrounded by waterfalls, state parks, and some of the oldest mountains in the eastern United States.

From Stony Brook Cabin, you're a short drive from Tallulah Gorge — the "Grand Canyon of Georgia" — and the town of Clayton itself, with its galleries, boutiques, and farm-to-table restaurants.

Whether you come for the hiking, the fishing, or simply to get away from screens and schedules, the surrounding area rewards those who slow down and look around.
